Community Outreach Programme in and around Chabua

Collage of RHRC community outreach programmes in Chabua including health camps, dental checkups, and blood donation drives

Referral Hospital & Research Centre (RHRC), supported by the APPL Foundation, regularly conducts community outreach programmes across tea garden estates and rural communities in and around Chabua and the wider Dibrugarh district. These initiatives aim to deliver essential primary healthcare, diagnostic evaluations, and health education directly to populations that face geographic and economic challenges in accessing hospital-based care.

The outreach activities encompass general health camps, pediatric and geriatric consultations, specialized dental clinics, and targeted screenings for non-communicable diseases, including hypertension and diabetes. In collaboration with the Assam Cancer Care Foundation, the programme also carries out cancer awareness and preliminary screenings for oral, breast, and cervical conditions. In addition, the hospital organizes voluntary blood donation camps to support emergency and surgical needs.

Patients requiring further diagnostic evaluation, specialized consultations, or procedural care are referred directly to RHRC. The hospital coordinates referral pathways and provides ambulance transport for cases needing advanced secondary care. Through continuous field engagements, the outreach programmes support early clinical detection and ongoing preventive health monitoring throughout the region.
